Complex Problem Solving

Complex Problem Solving
There are structured problems and there are unstructured problems. Structured problems are easier to solve and there is a lot of research in Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to achieve a faster and better solution with every iteration. The same cannot be said for unstructured problems. Unstructured problems could be new challenges that you have never seen before. You might not even have the entire problem and might even have contradictory asks from different stakeholders.
This demands an open mind approach, a “Critical Thinking Capability” which not only identifies the right problem but also prioritises and decides which issues to focus on. Although this skill is essential for everyone, it’s often found to be one of the most uncommon of soft skills.
In the sessions that follow we would explore the nature of unstructured problems and “Complex Problem Solving”. This essential skill is not only mandatory for leaders but also desirable in others in the organisation. And with development in technology and automation, this becomes a more indispensable skill.
